3-Day Waste Education Programs Held at 2 Monastic Education Centres

With the purpose of teaching young students the basic knowledge for environmental protection and proper waste handling, members of Myanmar Youths in Action has held 3-day programs at 2 monastic education centers, which has all now been concluded successfully.

We first started our project at Aung Zeyar Min Monastic Education Centre, situated in A Le Ywar, Hlaingthar Yar Township. A group of Myanmar Youths in Action members went there every Sunday for three weeks, and taught the middle school-aged students the basic environmental knowledge, and proper waste handling using vinyls and posters, and also played games with them.

Our second project was at Padauk Shwe War Monastic Education Centre at Kyauk Yay Twin, Ma Yan Gone Township. Another group of MYiA went there every Saturday and taught the "Waste Education Program" using vinyls, and posters, and played games with them.

We also donated trash bins at all 2 schools - two sets of trash bins marking one as disposable waste and another in-disposable waste.

We will be continuing our programs at other monastic education centres and orphanes in the coming months. If you are interested in joining with us, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@myia.asia!
