One of Myanmar Youths in Action's projects for 2012 includes providing trash bins at pagodas in Yangon. MYiA have already started the
first activity of this project at Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda last month.
This month, MYiA's second activity in "Trash Bin Project" was conducted at Botahtaung Pagoda in Botahtaung Township, Yangon. Botahtaung Pagoda is one of the famous tourist spots in Yangon, and also, many pilgrims comes to that pagoda, so it is necessary for the pagoda to have many trash bins so that visitors will be able to throw away trash properly.
We had donated 8 sets of three trash bins at the pagoda. The three trash bins were of different colours - black colour is for plastic bags and plastic bottles, and two red ones are for discarded flowers (from pagoda) and other trash.
